Using the Command Prompt to turn off your Windows 10 PC allows you more choices and versatility than just using the Start menu shutdown option, or clicking the power button on your Computer. Here’s how they did it.

Shut Down Your PC Using the Command Prompt

To open the Run window, begin by pressing the Windows + R keys. Type “cmd” into the box from there, then click the “OK” button.

This will open the Command Prompt. Here, type

Upon pressing Enter, a message will appear to let you know Windows will be shut down in less than a minute. If you like, you can click the “Close” button but that won’t affect the shutdown process.
